At the start of the new year, Faine Company successfully developed and officially launched its independently designed and manufactured DD40/2 deep-hole CNC drilling machine (refer to Figures 1 and 2), marking a significant addition to the Faine product lineup. This breakthrough fills a critical gap in the domestic market for deep-hole CNC drilling machines, reducing reliance on imported equipment. Since its launch, Faine's CNC deep-hole drilling machine has gained widespread recognition. The first unit was already contracted with Shanghai Sensong Group, demonstrating strong market confidence. In March 2004, Faine initiated the development of a deep-hole CNC drilling machine to meet the growing demand for efficient and suitable domestic processing equipment for thick tube sheets. After more than a year of dedicated efforts by the company’s team, the DD40/2 model was successfully developed and smoothly put into production. The first unit produced by Faine signed a supply contract with Shanghai Sensong Group and has already passed quality tests, successfully machining a tube sheet for the group (see Figure 3). The performance and precision of the machine were highly praised. It is reported that the tube sheet processed had dimensions of Ф2100×420mm, made of a composite material consisting of 11mm thick stainless steel and 410mm thick 16Mn steel. Despite the different materials, both were processed using the same spindle speed, but with distinct feeding strategies. When drilling the stainless steel section, a slower feed rate was applied, and once the hole was drilled through, the feed rate automatically increased, enabling one-time drilling of the entire composite structure. The DD40/2 deep-hole CNC drilling machine is primarily used for deep-hole drilling of heat exchange tube sheets in industries such as petrochemical, boiler manufacturing, and thermal power generation. It utilizes either hard alloy external chip removal gun drill technology or internal chip removal BTA drilling technology, ensuring high precision and stable performance. The machine can handle workpieces up to 4000mm in length, with a maximum thickness of 750mm. It supports drilling diameters ranging from Φ7 to Φ24mm, achieving surface roughness of Ra1.6–3.2, hole accuracy of IT9–IT10, and roundness of 0.02mm. With its high precision and competitive pricing, the DD40/2 is set to become the preferred choice for thick tube sheet processing in the industry.
