The four leading chambers of commerce and industry associations—the All-China Federation of Automobiles and Motorcycles (Motorcycle) Parts Industry Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Automobile Parts Markets, the Guangdong Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce Automobile Auto Parts Industry Chamber of Commerce, and the Guangzhou Chamber of Commerce and Industry Auto Accessories Industry Chamber of Commerce—have partnered with Huacheng International Exhibition Company to launch a major event during the Canton Fair. From October 15th to October 20th, they will co-host the CAEF 2004 China (Guangzhou) Automobile and Parts Products Export Fair and China (Guangzhou) Motorcycle Export Fair. This fair will be held twice a year, in spring and autumn, and will be integrated with the Canton Fair.
With an exhibition area exceeding 70,000 square meters, the event will showcase a wide range of products, including automotive and motorcycle parts, accessories, electric vehicles, and bicycles. The initiative is designed to address the limitations of the annual Canton Fair’s auto exhibition, offering more Chinese companies the opportunity to expand their export markets. It is expected to significantly boost the international trade of the Chinese auto industry and contribute to its overall growth and foreign exchange earnings.
The fair has received formal approval from the Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of Guangdong Province and the Administration of Industry and Commerce of Guangdong Province, as well as strong support from the Tianhe District People’s Government of Guangzhou. With the government lowering the threshold for foreign trade enterprises, more Chinese firms are seeking overseas opportunities. However, due to limited space at the Canton Fair, only a few automotive companies can participate, limiting their exposure. This new fair aims to fill that gap, providing a dedicated platform for the auto industry.
Over 95% of the attendees at the Canton Fair’s automotive sector come from Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, but there is little representation from Europe and the United States. These developed markets remain largely untapped, and the organizers aim to bridge this gap by actively reaching out to buyers in these regions. They plan to engage in interactive programs with major global auto exhibitions, such as those in Frankfurt, Las Vegas, and Munich, and will send delegations to attend these events. Collaboration with international auto parts associations is also on the agenda.
The fair benefits from strategic advantages: it is held during the Spring and Autumn Fairs, and the venue—Huacheng International Convention and Exhibition Center—is the second-largest modern professional exhibition hall in Guangzhou, located just five minutes from the new Canton Fair Pazhou Complex. This allows for seamless interaction with the main event and shared access to buyers.
In terms of resources, the fair leverages the strengths of multiple industry associations and media partners, including HC Network, China Auto Parts Network, Global Auto Parts Purchasing Network, and over 60 industry publications. The Wenzhou Auto & Motorcycle Accessories Association, representing Zhejiang’s auto parts industry, is also involved in discussions.
The first phase of the fair has already seen 70% of Hall A booked, prompting organizers to open the second floor of Hall A and Hall B to meet demand. The All-Automobile and Motorcycle Dealers Association is mobilizing its members across the country to participate, creating a high level of interest and competition for booth space.
On the international front, the organizing committee has contacted several foreign associations and government delegations, including the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association, the Brazilian Auto Parts Association (OEM), and delegations from Poland, Denmark, Ghana, Indonesia, Nigeria, Iran, and Turkey. Over 1,000 well-known foreign vehicle companies, auto parts suppliers, and purchasing groups have also been invited to attend.
Additionally, the Trade Fair Exporters Club has been launched, offering free membership to all participating companies. Members will receive comprehensive export solutions, global market insights, and access to exclusive buyer summits.
To further enhance visibility, the fair will also host the 2004 China Huacheng International Automobile Model Selection Competition, aiming to identify top marketing talents and boost the fair’s reputation within the industry.
This event marks a significant step forward for the Chinese auto industry, bringing together manufacturers, traders, foreign buyers, and industry organizations in Guangzhou. It aims to create a global dialogue for Chinese auto parts companies and establish a new platform for international trade.
