I didn’t hear the Glenview dispatch, but I heard RED Center sending Engine 1 and TRT3. I was on Central Road heading to NIPSTA for a MABAS meeting, so I took it in cold. Upon arrival, I noticed the car had hit the garage and there was a strong smell of natural gas in the area. I parked about 100 yards or more away from the incident. GV had a line laid and was working to secure the gas. I don’t know if there were any injuries. As soon as I arrived at the command post, Battalion 6 returned TRT3, E1, and some GV companies. The scene was pretty chaotic, but the crews were doing their job. It’s always a bit unsettling when you see a car crash into a building like that. I imagine the people inside were shocked. I didn’t stick around too long after the command post got things under control. Just wanted to make sure everything was safe before heading back on the road.
