This is from John Tulipano:

On Saturday, April 25th, around 6:55 pm, Batavia Fire Department was dispatched to an automatic alarm at 601 Kingslands Drive. Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke coming from the building and quickly upgraded the call to a general alarm, then to a MABAS box alarm.

The fire was brought under control relatively fast, but thick smoke lingered throughout the structure. To help with ventilation, a special request was made for the Mobile Ventilation Unit (MVU) from MABAS Division 1 to assist in clearing the smoke.

More photos are available on my website if you'd like to see the scene up close.

The response from the local fire department was quick and efficient, and it's clear that the team worked together to manage the situation. The use of the MVU was crucial in reducing the smoke and making the environment safer for both firefighters and residents nearby.
