Last night, the Arlington Heights Fire Department received a call about a fire at 901 W. Lynwood Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and quickly upgraded the incident to a Code 4 working fire, which brought additional units from Palatine and Buffalo Grove to the scene. The fire, which started in the living room and involved furniture, was under control within a short time. According to the *Daily Herald*, the home was declared uninhabitable due to significant smoke damage. The occupants were not present during the fire, as confirmed by photos taken on the scene. The first engine to arrive, Engine 2, found the house fully engulfed in smoke upon their arrival. Firefighters worked swiftly to contain the blaze, and the fire was extinguished before it could spread further. Despite the heavy smoke and fire damage to the living room, the structure remained largely intact. Fire officials estimate the damage to be around $100,000. A tower ladder, two engines, two ambulances, two squad units, and a battalion chief were all dispatched to the location. After the fire was out, charred furniture, including sofas, was removed from the home. A gallery of images from the scene is available [here](#). The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of early detection and quick response in minimizing damage and ensuring safety.
