Pipe fittings are threaded fittings that assist in making different plumbing configurations. Different types of pipe fittings come in many shapes and sizes, including y-fittings, couplings, reducers, tees, and elbows. Whatever the shape, the pipe fitting is connected to pipes and tubes to separate the equipment, as well as to close or seal a pipe. Zhejiang Institute of Metrology Advances in Aerosol Measurement Technology Recently, a groundbreaking "single-dispersion aerosol particle size and concentration measuring device based on light scattering" developed by the Zhejiang Institute of Metrology has been granted a national invention patent.
This innovative device combines photometric and particle counting methods based on the principle of light scattering, enabling rapid and accurate measurement of both particle size and concentration for monodisperse aerosols. It addresses long-standing challenges in aerosol particle size and concentration detection, particularly in terms of traceability. The technology is highly applicable for calibrating PM2.5 monitoring instruments and plays a vital role in environmental protection and meteorological monitoring.
To establish an effective measurement standard for PM2.5 respirable particulate matter, the Zhejiang Metrology Institute formed a dedicated project team to conduct extensive research. The team focused on metrological verification and calibration of atmospheric particulate matter, trace gas samplers, and visibility meters. By leading the research on PM2.5 measurement traceability through major science and technology projects, they established a reference method for PM2.5 measurement, ensured the traceability of PM2.5 mass concentration data, and developed a reliable metering standard device for PM2.5 inhalable particulate matter. This meets the needs of manufacturers, users, and testing institutions, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of environmental monitoring data across the province.
The PM2.5 mass concentration verification device is used for calibrating automatic PM2.5 monitors and provides a crucial reference for obtaining accurate environmental monitoring data. In addition, the Zhejiang Metrology Institute was entrusted with developing local technical specifications for PM2.5 automatic monitors by the Zhejiang Quality Supervision Bureau.
Through rigorous stability and repeatability tests, the standard device successfully passed an expert on-site evaluation in November 2017. This marked a significant milestone, as it allowed the institute to establish a social public measurement standard, filling a critical gap in its particle detection capabilities.
