[New concept of instrument network in China] It is reported that Korean mobile operator LG Uplus has already reached a cooperation agreement with Huawei on the narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) service. Huawei plans to provide about 100,000 NB-IoT chips and modules to SMEs that have joined the NB-IoT service platform.

According to Zhu Cheng, general manager of Huawei's cellular internet of things product line, “We have provided LG Uplus with free chips and modules because we believe Korea has the greatest global impact in the Internet of Things.”

On November 21 this year, Huawei and LG Uplus jointly opened the NB-IoT Open Lab at the LG Uplus office in Sangam-dong, western Seoul.

In the lab, company partners in the mobile device, service and system integration industries will be able to develop and test their products and services.

In April this year, Huawei cooperated with Vodafone to open the world's first NB-IoT open laboratory in Newbury, UK. Since then, Huawei has successively established six laboratories around the world and strengthened cooperation with 30 partners.
