The latest statistics from Ningbo Customs show that from January to July 2010, the city’s total exports of auto parts and components were US$590 million, an increase of 60.7% over the same period of 2009. Among them, the export value of auto parts in July was 100 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 73.8% year-on-year, and the monthly export volume hit a new high since 2009. These auto parts are mainly exported to European and American markets, of which US$210 million are exported to the United States and 130 million US$ are exported to the EU, which together account for 57.8% of total exports. Private companies and foreign-invested companies are the main exporters of auto parts. In the first seven months of 2010, they exported 270 million U.S. dollars and 220 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 49.4% and 91.5% respectively.
