Forest View was the scene of a fire involving a couple of semi-trucks on Monday at 5200 W 47th St. As I was heading from my house, I spotted the smoke coming from 39th and Lombard. The first photo was taken from my phone while I was crossing the Central Bridge on the way to the scene. These are some of the shots I captured up close.
The flames were intense, and the smoke was visible for miles. Firefighters arrived quickly and worked hard to contain the blaze. It’s always unsettling to see something like this happen so close to home. I’m just glad no one was hurt. If you’re in the area, be cautious and stay away from the scene until it’s cleared.
