This is from Josh Boyajian:

On Thursday afternoon, we were heading to West Suburban Hospital in an attempt to catch the newly assigned 18th Battalion while he was there. Instead, we responded to a still alarm at 5012 W Madison Street. Engine 113 arrived first and found no visible signs of fire from the three-story apartment building that sat above a commercial space. Tower 14 arrived next and reported smoke coming from the rear of the building upon their arrival.

Engine 113 took the lead with a line up to the second floor, where they discovered a small bedroom fire. The crews made a quick knock and quickly brought the fire under control. I’m not 100% certain, but this might have been the first fire that Battalion 18 encountered on the west side. Here are some photos to give you a better sense of what happened.
