West Chicago Special Alarm at 923 Gates. The call came in as a basement fire. When the crews arrived, they found flames in the basement that had spread up a plumbing wall and into the dormer on the second floor. Firefighters were able to bring the situation under control within about 30 minutes using four hoselines.
