This is from Larry Shapiro:

A call reporting a house fire at 102 S. Chester was received by the Park Ridge Fire Department just before 10 AM on Saturday, February 15, 2014. As units were en route, they spotted a header and arrived at the corner of Chester and Garden to find the back porch engulfed in flames and a worker with burn injuries. The incident was upgraded to a Code 4 due to the active working fire. Engine 35 encountered a frozen hydrant at the scene, so firefighters had to hand-jack a hose from Tower 36 to another hydrant half a block south.

Fire companies quickly brought the main fire under control, but found limited access to the second floor. The home was unoccupied at the time and appeared to be in the final stages of renovation. Units on scene included Park Ridge Engine 35, Tower 36, both Park Ridge ambulances, and Battalion 35. Additional support came from Rosemont and Niles with trucks, Morton Grove with a squad, Norwood Park and North Maine with engines, as well as ambulances from Lincolnwood and Elk Grove Village.

I arrived after the fire was extinguished and have some photos from the scene.
