This message comes to us from Martin Nowak:
"North Palos recently completed a significant modification by fitting an Osage reconditioned ambulance body, previously mounted on a 2003 Ford chassis and designated as unit 8R2, onto a brand-new Chevy Express chassis. As part of this transition, the older unit 822 has been placed in reserve status and now carries the designation 8R2. Most of the accompanying images are my own work, except for the photograph of the former 8R2, which is provided courtesy of Osage Ambulance.
Here’s a breakdown of the units:
- Ambulance 822: This was originally a 2014 Chevy Express 4500 with a 2003 Osage body.
- Ambulance 8R2: This features a 2002 Ford E-450 chassis paired with a McCoy Miller body.
- The former 822 is now known as 8R2 and is currently in reserve status.
- The image of the former 8R2 is sourced from Osage Ambulance.
Attached you’ll find several photographs to illustrate these changes. These were taken by me, except for one that is credited to Osage Ambulance.

I hope these details help clarify the recent developments with North Palos' ambulance fleet. Let me know if you have any questions or need further information!"
