As the iron ore of Tianjin Port’s four pillars, iron ore has maintained a strong growth momentum in recent years and has occupied an important position in the growth of Tianjin Port’s throughput. At present, Tianjin Port has become an important import port for China's iron ore, and it undertakes the tasks of importing and exporting iron ore from iron and steel companies in North China, Northwest China and Beijing and Tianjin.

With the increasing import demand for iron ore in China, Tianjin Port adopts a strategy of promoting market development through functional development. At present, it is actively constructing an iron ore distribution center, constructing the largest mining logistics base in the north of China, and storing railway transportation and ports. Loading and unloading, the production of the iron and steel enterprises in the Mainland and related industries are organically integrated to promote the development of the port.

In addition, Tianjin Port has already completed construction of 200,000-ton general bulk berths in the Nanjiang Port Area, with ore-loaded haulage as its main function, which has greatly increased the ability of the port to accept ore; and another 200,000-ton ore berth is also under construction.
