Pangang Group Co., Ltd. has an annual output of 15,000 tons of sponge titanium production line to ignite the oven, marking the transition of the production line from the construction to the pre-production stage. The production line started construction in March 2009, with an investment of about 2.5 billion yuan. The project has introduced advanced production technology such as molten salt chlorination, crude titanium tetrachloride aluminum powder and vanadium refining. The required titanium raw materials are all titanium slag from Panzhihua. The production line will also continue trial production of chlorination refining, crushing processing, magnesium electrolysis and refining. It is expected that the titanium sponge production line will be put into operation by October this year.
