Simrad recently introduced an optically bonded Simrad M5027 HD display for the merchant shipping market, which is designed to meet the color calibration requirements of electronic chart (product library supply) display and information system (ECDIS (Product Library Supply)) A 27-inch marine display with system size requirements for 320mm CAT1 radar (purchased from the product library).
     According to Simrad, the Simrad M5027 HD display is manufactured to meet long-term reliable operation with an optically bonded liquid crystal display (LCD) as standard. Optically bonded LCDs will eliminate the problems of condensation, overheating and contamination common to poor quality displays. Reliable touch menu control and Ipx6 rated waterproof flush mounting will also contribute to extended life.
     Both the AC-type and DC-type Simrad M5027 displays will include the Simrad radar and electronic chart display and information system package. The Simrad M5027 display will begin shipping in August 2016.
